Privacy Policy and GDPR
This document explains what data may be processed when using Pogodynka.eu and the rights available to users.
1. Data controller
The controller of data related to Pogodynka.eu is the service operator. Privacy enquiries may be sent to the email address shown on this page. Full controller identification must be completed before public launch where required by law.
2. Data categories
The server processes technical data required to handle connections and protect the service. The first-party analytics module stores a random browser identifier in a secure cookie and keeps only its hash in the database. Request time, page path, device type, language and response code may be recorded. A searched place name is used to retrieve a forecast. No account is required for basic forecast access.
3. Purposes and legal bases
Technical data is processed to deliver the service, maintain security, diagnose faults and prevent abuse. Legal bases may include performance of a service requested by the user and the controller's legitimate interest in operating a secure and reliable website.
4. Providers
Data may be entrusted to hosting and infrastructure providers. Weather requests use Open-Meteo. The data disclosed should be minimised and the provider list must reflect the actual production deployment.
5. Cookies and browser storage
The service uses mechanisms required for sessions, settings and security, plus a random first-party identifier used to estimate unique browsers. The analytics module does not use profiling or retain raw IP addresses. Exact GPS coordinates are not stored in the location analytics table; GPS searches are reported in aggregate. External analytics or advertising tools require separate configuration and an appropriate legal basis.
6. Google analytics and advertising
The project contains configuration points only for future integration. Analytics and advertising remain disabled until identifiers are entered and a compliant consent mechanism is implemented. This policy must be updated before those services are activated.
7. Retention
Detailed first-party analytics and technical logs are retained only as long as required for service analysis and security, by default for up to 90 days, then deleted or aggregated. Correspondence may be retained for the time needed to handle a matter and protect against potential claims.
8. User rights
Where provided by law, users may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability and may object to processing. Users may also lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority, including Poland's President of the Personal Data Protection Office.
9. Security and updates
Appropriate organisational and technical safeguards should include HTTPS, access restrictions and software updates. This policy may change as the service develops or laws change. The effective date appears below.
